That latest pic of you skating looks awesome. Your new suit looks fabulous. Finally Canada looks trendy! Plus you look focused and ready to make some noise in the World Cups, good luck. Thanks for sharing your family’s photos!
Hey, Kerry, it’s great to see pictures of our family on your site. I think Isabelle looks like you, too. Happy Birthday on November 6th. Have a safe trip to World Cups and call when you can. Love, Mom
Hey Kerry- great photos and post on Berlin- I would love to see it one day! How did the races go? I am looking forward to seeing your next entry from the Netherlands - good luck!
Have fun over in Asia! We will be looking at your results on ISU. Too bad speed skating doesn’t have live feeds so we can watch you on the web. I remember I had to find you in the last Olympics on the French channel! We all looked at your website today after Brady was commenting on your pic on the fridge. I was trying to explain that you race. We then proceeded to race around the house.
Love the Simpsons
Dearest Kerry, I wish I were in the stands to wave to you as you cruise around the ice. It is my heart that I send to you in Nagano, Japan. All the best, sweetie, love you more, Mom
Hi Kerry - Congratulations on nailing the 1000 metre World Cup race! You are an inspiration and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and Arne as we launched the Nexera sponsorship together. Everyone at AdFarm has the utmost confidence in you as a person and in your skating ability…such drive and determination. Kerry, believe in yourself, as we do - you ARE going to be a winner at the Olympics. Did you get any great fortune cookies that said “you’re on your way to success”?
Hey, Kerry, great article about your adventures in Russia. It was informative, yet full of voice (personality in your writing). We really enjoyed your insightful comments. Anyone reading them would then have a “feel” for the country and how travelling there can be emotionally charged. Congrats on your gritty performance. We are proud of you! Have a safe journey home, Kerry. Love, Mom and Dad P.S. The Mils won in Yorkton yesterday 4 to 1. YES! We have one very happy billet
Hey Kerry congrats and you will have my support everywhere you and in anything you go you have inspired me in so many ways even when you taught me swimming lessons.
Hey, Kerry, I wish I were there with you right now, cooking for you, laughing with you, watching you skate, teasing you, just looking at you, watching a movie with you. Your Mom is missing you so I can imagine how much Arne wishes you were home, too. Don’t let me distract you , though. I know this is what you need to do and you should have fun doing it. I am thinking of you and wishing you all the best in training. See you soon, Love, Mom
What a great idea, Kerry. The pizza looks great. I know Dad and I love when you make it for us. A little choked that it’s not one of MY recipes! HA!HA! Love, Mom
Hi Kerry- Great recipe! All the best in your training this summer. Keep us posted on how it is going and I look forward to seeing you when you are back in Calgary!
Just got home from the lake and read your blog! Great idea, Kerry. Enjoy your guests for dinner tonight. Hope the weather there is nicer than it is here. Have a big pail of saskatoons waiting for you at the cabin. Also garden veggies of all kinds– especially rice beet-leaf rolls. m-m-m-m. Love, Mom
Hi Kerry,
We had a phone call today from a very excited skater. We wanted you to know how much your generosity is appreciated. William is having the time of his life skating with the “fastest women in the world”.
All the best with your training in California and beyond.
Regards,
Craig and Lynn
I am so happy that Will was pumped! It is nice to be able to pass on some exciting things to a new member on the National Team, especially those that really appreciate it and work really hard. Being from SK also helps hahaha
Well, Kerry and Arne, it was GREAT to be with you! You fill our hearts with joy and pride and besides all that, you are lots of fun to be with! Hope you LOVED your stay at Crooked Lake even though that nasty hawk was complaing about your invading his hunting territory! HA!HA!HA! Isn’t it just heavenly to breath that good old Sask. air? By the way, “GO, RIDERS, GO! Am having a terrific time with Brady and Isabelle. Lots of love, and remember to celebrate EVERY success! Love, Mom
Thanks Zoey! My qualifications are at the end of December, between christmas and new year’s. Hopefully I’ll be going to the games! Thanks for reading my blog
Hi Kerry, sorry to hear about your misfortune at Fall World Cup Trials, but you’re right, you will have an edge and I know you will have a great Olympic trials. SASSA is creating a new website and we are trying to get some of our National Team Athletes’ pictures up on the website. We are looking for your permission to use your images on there, you can join Mykola who already his pics up Just email me when you have some time, thanks and say hi to Arne for me.
H1N1… scarier than Hallowe’en and more serious, for sure! What should you do? Talk to your coaches and your teammates. What are they doing and what do they usually do? As for myself, I think I will not be having a shot of any kind, but you, on the other hand, should at least get a flu shot as you do every year. This is quite a tough decision, but I know you will weigh the pros and cons and do the thing that makes the most sense as you always do. Take care, Kerry!
Hi Kerry, how is skating going? I will not be skating on Sylvan Lake till it warms up. Going to Edmonton for our Christmas Party on Sat, will take in some Roar of The Rings on Friday. Love, Auntie Dudie
Hi Auntie Dudie! Thanks for the post. Skating is going well. I am feeling the pressure already for trials, but hoping that I can rise to the occasion. It is pretty cold right now, but cool that you will be able to skate outdoors soon. I always say that skating outside when it is sunny is the best that it gets! Have fun at your Christmas party.
Kerry
I made sweet and sour pork with rice noodles and then pork stew with garden potatoes and carrots for supper…….YUM! Yours still looks tastier! Good cooker, our Kerry is!

Oh, Kerry, you little teaser! I LOVE surprises and besides being with all the people I love most, giving presents is high on my list of the best moments in life. The best gifts are always the things you give and the things money cannot buy! (Although receiving golf balls is high on my list of things that make me happy!) Watching Blair in hockey, for 26 years and counting- he scored a hat trick yesterday), Kerry in speed skating (19 years) and Jody in volleyball, basketball and curling (you wait– she’s going to whip me in golf, too), have to be the BEST gifts in my life! There is no greater joy than watching all three of you do ANYTHING! Thanks for being so wonderful!
Hi Kerry,
From a rainy Salt Spring Island, we wish you success at the trials coming up after Christmas. We know it will be tough, but you can do it!
Looking after the Olympics, congratulations to Arne for his acceptance in Delft. It will be great. Delft is a small old town, relatively quiet between Rotterdam and Den Haag, but you know all that already.
Very soon you will eat “raw” herring the Rotterdam way: the tail in hand and the fish into your mouth!
Again ,good luck in late December. As alway we will follow you,
I wish I had shown your afghan to Granny when she was here yesterday as a dignitary for the torch ceremony. She was SO impressed with the scarf you crocheted for me. She said you are better than she is at this art form and THAT is saying a lot! I LOVE your sun pattern. Your afghan is colourful and it has beautiful warm colours- a good thing in an afghan. I know what it’s like to be bored and I hear you. That is why I am so reluctant to retire.
You can buy something like measuring cup, it’s called “maatbeker” in dutch. They sell it at “Blokker” but also at “Xenos” (mutch cheaper). Good luck! (hope you understand my englisch, I’m not so good in it)
